On December 16, the commencement ceremony of CR Power's first offshore wind power project Cangnan No.1 was held in the sea area near Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province. Zhang Junzheng, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of CR Power, and guests from all construction contractors witnessed the commencement. Jiang Lihui, Vice President of CR Power, presided over the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Xi Yong, General Manager of CR Power East China, delivered a welcome speech. CCCC IHIRD Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., Poly Changda and CSSC spoke on behalf of the construction contractors. They expressed they would work together and forge ahead to complete the objectives and tasks of the project, ensuring the grid connection of full capacity on schedule.
According to Vice-Chairman Zhang Junzheng, as a red central SOE, CR Power has been taking the initiative to serve the overall interests of the Party and the country. It strives to promote clean energy development and efficient energy utilization by actively responding to the major national strategy of “Peak Carbon Dioxide Emissions” and “Carbon Neutrality”. He hoped that all construction contractors and project teams would work together to ensure the HSE, quality, and progress in the construction process, and strive to build Cangnan No. 1 into an industry high-quality project and the "Pearl" of the East China Sea, setting a benchmark, accumulating experience, cultivating talents and establishing a circle of friends for the subsequent development and construction of more offshore wind power projects of CR Power.
At 10:18 that morning, Vice-Chairman Zhang Junzheng announced the official commencement of the CR Power Cangnan No. 1 Offshore Wind Power Project. After the key guests attending the commencement ceremony pushed the starting pole, the onshore centralized control center of the project fired guns simultaneously to sound the horn of the commencement of construction. A new chapter in the offshore wind power construction of CR Power opened.
Located in the eastern sea area of Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province, the CR Power Cangnan No. 1 Offshore Wind Power Project plans to install 24 of 6.25 MW units and 25 of 10 MW units with a planned installed capacity of 400 MW. According to the plan, the project will be put into operation at the end of December 2022, with an annual on-grid power of 1.35 billion kWh and annual equivalent full load hours of 3,388 hours. Compared with conventional coal-fired thermal power units with the same power generation capacity, the project will save about 422,000 tons of standard coal and 4 million m3 of freshwater every year, and reduce the corresponding discharge of hydrodynamic ash disposal wastewater and warm drainage, with obvious economic and environmental benefits.
As the first affordable offshore wind power project under construction in China, Cangnan No. 1 is one of the offshore wind power projects with the most complex sea geological conditions in China. To actively explore the construction of affordable offshore wind power, the project innovates in multiple dimensions such as unit selection, wind turbine bidding, onshore centralized control center design and intelligent operation and maintenance, and strives to build a benchmark project, which is of great significance to the era of affordable offshore wind power. Moreover, the project is also an important milestone in CR Power's development and construction of new energy, which will accelerate the great development of the company's new energy business.
