Recently, a short video called "All For You" was officially launched online. The video is about the work and life of some grass-roots electric power workers who devote themselves to helping the Tibetan families in Heishui County in Aba Prefecture to shake off poverty. CR Power built a photovoltaic power station and helped more than 4,000 poor people here to live a prosperous life with its poverty alleviation project.
It is reported that Heishui County is a national poverty-stricken county with a long history of revolutionary culture. Affected by the climate of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, natural disasters such as drought, rainstorm, hail and flood occur frequently. However, it has sufficient sunshine, small annual temperature difference and abundant light and heat resources.
In order to help Heishui County find a way out of poverty, CR Power and Heishui County signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for the Solar Photovoltaic Poverty Alleviation Project in Heishui County at the end of 2016. In April 2018, the project was officially kicked off in Ruoduo Village, Zhawo Township, 3410 meters above sea level.
After 3 months of removal of difficulties, the power station realized from construction-starting to grid-connected power generation, with all of the 25 arrays put into operation. Heishui Zhawo's 30MW centralized photovoltaic poverty alleviation project became a major focus in Aba Prefecture.
During the construction of the project, CR Power invested more than 300,000 yuan to reinforce village roads, improving the travel conditions of villagers. At the same time, the project construction increased employment opportunities for local people. "The whole village has 120 households and 367 people, all of whom have been lifted out of poverty," said the village head E Muxue.
San Jixue, a 46-year-old villager, is one of many beneficiaries. He used to rely on farming and gathering mountain herbs and could earn only 4,000 to 5,000 yuan a year. After the project was kicked off, he started to watch the site, repair the dam, dig drainage ditches, and carry photovoltaic panels, and unexpectedly earned 40,000 to 50,000 yuan in half a year.
According to an employee of CR Heishui Photovoltaic Poverty Alleviation Project, the project helped 4,032 poor people in Heishui County and provided 4.032 million yuan of poverty alleviation fund for the county every year. As of March 2019, the project had generated a total of 29m kWh of electricity, with a daily maximum of 200,000 kWh.
"This project is the first poverty alleviation project explored by CR Power in Sichuan," said Liu Wei, Party secretary and general manager of CR Power Southwest China Region. "Through our industry advantages, we have successfully turned ‘blood transfusion into blood creation’ and help the local people to shake off poverty and create wealth.
In addition, CR Power and Heishui County also held a Party-building pairing ceremony for grass-roots Party organizations to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in Party building, resource development, industrial development, poverty alleviation, etc. (Li Jie)
