Epidemic Prevention and Control - China Resources Pitches in

Send Medical Workers to Front Line:

As of February 16, CR Medical and CR Healthcare had sent 231 and 61 people respectively from all over the country. A total of 292 doctors and nurses had come to the designated hospitals such as Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital and No.9 Hospital, Fangcang Hospital and the medical isolation point, and about 112 backup medical workers are waiting for the unified arrangement of the provincial and municipal governments and ready to set out at any time in support of Hubei. As of February 16, a total of 279 confirmed cases had been admitted to CR hospitals.

Medical supplies:

From January 1 to February 17, 2020, CR’s pharmaceutical production enterprises and commercial enterprises (including Hong Kong) have provided a total of about RMB 3.761 billion of drugs and devices for epidemic prevention and control. Wherein, 2.310 billion of drugs and devices was supplied by commercial enterprises and 1.451 billion by industrial enterprises. A total of 14.1 million masks, 105,800 sets of protective clothing (including surgical clothing and isolation gown) and 39.79 million sets of medical gloves were urgently sent to the frontline.

Overview of Hubei Province:

(1) From January 1 to February 12, CR Hubei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. delivered 90,080 pieces of medical devices worth RMB 70.436 million and 660,000 pieces of medicines worth RMB 928.63 million (including 563,200 pieces of devices and medicines worth RMB 701 million from Hubei Province).

(2) Since January 19, Wuhan Binhu Shuanghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has supported 81 terminal hospitals with a total of 717,000 bags of infusion products, 1,488,800 bags of glucose injection, 299,000 bags of plastic bottles, 241,000 bags of soft bottles and 56,000 bags of glass bottles, with a total of 2.798 million bags delivered, totaling 66,600 pieces.

As of February 16, the procurement of anti-epidemic materials by medical institutions affiliated to CR Medical had included 66,524 N95 masks, 386,580 surgical masks, 25,852 isolation gowns, 15,788 sets of protective clothing and 3,378 medical goggles.

Supplies for people's livelihood:

In January this year, the average daily number of employees in CR Vanguard stores across the country exceeded 100,000. CR Vanguard purchased masks worth over RMB 17.15 million, pure disinfectants (water, liquid and alcohol) worth RMB 22.73 million, grain, oil, rice and flour worth RMB 2.1 billion, instant food worth RMB 547 million, constant-temperature milk worth RMB 1.22 billion, fruits and vegetables worth RMB 991 million, and meat, eggs and fish worth RMB 1.426 billion.

CR NG Fung put 2,476.52 tons of rice and 104.63 tons of edible oil into Hubei market from January 1 to February 16.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, CR Gas has done everything possible to provide safe and stable gas supply to ensure the normal use of gas by users.  So far, CR Gas has supplied more than 37 million users nationwide with an average daily demand of 45.9151 million cubic meters and a realized supply of 49.7788 million cubic meters. CR Gas has more than 200 enterprises across the country and not one single outage has occurred. Currently the existing gas source can ensure sufficient and stable supply.

In Hubei, the hardest-hit region in China, CR Gas member companies were responsible for supplying natural gas to 1.47 million users in 18 cities such as Wuhan, Xiangyang and Qianjiang, agreeing to ensure the gas supply even in case of payment in arrears during the epidemic. Currently, 58 gas stations, 17 gate stations, 56 high- and medium-pressure regulating stations and 4 LNG storage and distribution stations in Hubei are operating normally.

Up to now, CR Power operates 37 thermal power plants, 3 distributed energy or heat supply projects, 2 hydropower stations, 88 wind farms and 21 photovoltaic power plants across the country, all of which are operating normally to ensure power supply. CR Power Central China Region has 3 thermal power projects and 10 wind power projects. From January 23 to February 10, CR Power Central China Region generated 691 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and supplied 114,000 GJ of heat.

Help SMEs:

1. CR Land has reduced or exempted the rent for all merchants in 61 shopping centers in 34 Chinese cities for a total of 16 days from January 25 to February 9, covering about 14,000 shops across the country.

2. CR Vanguard has reduced or exempted the rent for 15 days from January 25 to February 8 for merchants across the country, with a cumulative reduction of RMB 130 million, benefiting some 14,000 merchants nationwide with a business area of 1.84 million square meters.

Material donations:

1. CR Snow Beer donated RMB 10 million to the Wuhan Charity Federation and RMB 5 million to the Red Cross Societies of East Lake District and West Lake District on February 1.

2. As of February 12, CR Pharmaceuticals’ affiliated enterprises had donated a total of RMB 3.82 million of relevant protective equipment and medicines to government agencies and medical institutions.

3. As of February 15, CR Cestbon donated a total of 20,138 boxes of drinking water to hospitals and institutions fighting against the epidemic.

4. CR Gas has set up "Leishen commando team" and donated RMB 3 million in support of the construction of Leishenshan Hospital’s gas facilities, of which RMB 1.2 million is used for pipelines and gas facilities and RMB 1.8 million for gas supply and operation guarantee.

5. CR Trust donated RMB 500,000 to the "Charitable Trust for China Trust Industry to Fight Against COVID-19" through China Trustee Association. It also donated RMB 120,000 to Shenzhen Charity Foundation through the "Runxin Charity Trust" to help prevent and control the epidemic.

6. As of February 16, CR Power's enterprises have provided about RMB 477,000 of epidemic prevention materials to WISCO General Hospital, local governments, communities, public welfare organizations, such as masks, disinfectants and thermometers.

7. As of February 16, CR NG Fung has donated a total of RMB 750,000 of anti-epidemic materials and funds to epidemic prevention headquarters, hospitals and local governments.
