On November 12, the third “ai Social Value Co-Creation” Award Ceremony for Appraising and Electing Excellent Chinese Social Responsibility Fulfillment Cases & “Value Co-Creation Shaping the New Motivation for Enterprise Sustainable Development” themed forum was held at Fudan University, School of Management. The first “academic award” in the enterprise social responsibility field in China, at the presence of more than one hundred representatives from the governments, enterprises and social organizations, was granted. The “New Energy + Poverty Relief” program of China Resources Power stood out from the 93 candidate cases, winning the Award for Model Enterprise in Targeted Poverty Alleviation at the “ai Social Value Co-Creation”.

The “ai Social Value Co-Creation” Award Ceremony for Appraising and Electing Excellent Chinese Social Responsibility Fulfillment Cases was co-held by School of Management of Fudan University, CCM CSR PROMOTION CENTER, CIIC GuanAiTong and the ai Quality Workplace, being the first case evaluation system researched and designed by the universities and covering the sustainable development strategy planning of enterprises and the fulfillment of social responsibilities by enterprises. Members of the expert judging panel are all from the famed domestic academic research institutes. The award winning cases are initially selected by the Fudan University, School of Management and finally determined via voting by 14 famed professors majored in management, environment, laws, communication, brand and public management from 11 well-known domestic universities, including Peking University and Tsinghua University. Considering the process and action of enterprises practicing “social value co-creation” and the capacity characteristics of enterprises realizing “value co-creation” and their “cross-field cooperation” management level, this activity grants the awards for excellent cases of fulfilling social responsibilities, for outstanding enterprises in assuming social responsibilities, for model enterprises in targeted poverty relief efforts and for model philanthropic organizations.

The Zaoyang Bailu Wind Power “New Energy + Poverty Relief” Project of China Resources Power wins the Award for Model Enterprise in Targeted Poverty Alleviation at the “ai Social Value Co-Creation”. Zaoyang City of Hubei Province is the old revolutionary base area and relative poverty-stricken area specified by the provincial government, with 77 serious poverty-stricken villages, 23,800 low-income families and 51,500 impoverished persons recorded. In April 2016, China Resources Power and Zaoyang municipal government signed the Framework Agreement of Zaoyang Bailu Wind Power Project Investment, co-establishing the China Resources Wind Power Zaoyang Bailu Co., Ltd. For 20 years after the inception, the earnings of the project would be used for alleviating the poverty and improving local residents’ living conditions.

Attaching great importance to the performance of enterprise social responsibility, China Resources Power is active in responding to the national “poverty alleviation program” appeal. It is contributing to the poverty alleviation in local places by giving play to its advantages in funds, management and talents, poverty relief through industrial development, assisting in development featured agricultural and income-adding projects, strengthening the infrastructure construction and participating in the project of China Resources in constructing the “hope towns” in the poverty-stricken places across the country. In terms of poverty relief through industrial development, China Resources Power is active in exploring and investing in wind power and photovoltaic power generation projects, to stimulate the employment in local places and benefit local residents with the project earnings, thus to promote the economic and social development of them. This award is the recognition of the efforts by China Resources Power in targeted poverty relief and linking industrial development and local development to contribute to poverty alleviation.
