Reported by our reporter Xu Weixing Recenctly, China Resources Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (00836. HK) has formally released the Sustainability Report for 2018 (hereinafter referred to as the "Report").

According to the Report, as a large energy-based central enterprise, CR Power, by strengthening corporate governance, vigorously developed renewable energy, reduced energy consumption and emissions, and substantially disposed of and reduced its holding of coal in 2018; at the same time, it made further innovation and transformation, actively built a smart system, promoted efficient energy supply and smart energy use in the society, fulfilled corporate social responsibility, and practiced sustainable development. Its total investment in environmental protection in 2018 was about RMB1.52 billion.

As of the end of 2018, CR Power's installed capacity for clean energy operation equity increased by 3 ppts compared with the previous year. Among them, the installed capacity for wind power equity increased from 5629MW at the end of 2018 to 6816MW, up by more than 20%. At the same time, CR Power has continued to increase investment in energy saving and emission reduction of coal-fired units. As at the end of 2018, 98% of the installed capacity of CR Power's coal-fired power plants had completed ultra-low-emissions transformation with main energy consumption and emission indicators further improved and average net coal consumption rate down by 3.62g / kWh.

As one of the most efficient and profitable integrated energy companies in the country, CR Power had full-load unit utilization hours for coal-fired power plants of 4,976 hours, 615 hours higher than the national coal-fired units' average utilization hours, and had average utilization hours for wind power plants of 2,314 hours, 219 hours higher than the national average utilization hours of wind turbines, maintaining the leading position in the industry.

In order to solve the problem of urban sludge sieging and expand its own development space, CR Power has actively explored the technology of solid waste disposal and blending combustion power generation in thermal power plants. Its 13 power plants including Guangdong Haifeng Power Plant and Jiangsu Changshu Power Plant has participated in municipal sludge waste disposal, with 403,000 tons of sludge blending combusted in total throughout the year. At the same time, CR Power has attached great importance to the prevention and control of water and soil pollution and ecological protection, and minimized the impact on the environment during project construction and operation.

With the increasingly fierce competition in the power market, CR Power has also actively made innovation and transformation by providing various forms of integrated smart energy services from the dimensions of efficient energy supply and smart energy use. Many projects in such fields as distributed energy, incremental distribution of networks, shore power supply and smart energy comprehensive service have been successfully implemented. Among them, CR Power has paid special attention to digitalization and intelligent work, actively built a cloud platform for power sales, realized platform-based management of the basic process of power sales business, and built a smart energy cloud platform to guide companies to use electricity rationally and economically.

According to the relevant person in charge of CR Power, CR Power is actively building a smart system and entering the "Internet +" energy business unit. It is committed to the research and applications of new energy fields such as multi-energy complementation, intelligent microgrid, demand-side response, energy storage, and hydrogen energy, the provision of smart energy solutions, and the provision of safe, clean, low-carbon, and efficient energy efficiency services and value-added services for industrial and commercial users, parks, etc., so as to promote efficient energy supply and smart energy use in society.
